    eu in or out poll

They wouldn't be refugees, they'd be economic migrants. There's a massive difference: think jew leaving nazi germany in 1938 vs scaffolder going for a job in Saudi. http://www.ssi.org.au/faqs/refugee-faqs/148-what-is-the-difference-between-a-refugee-and-a-migrant

    eu in or out poll

That is the least logical statement on EU membership I have heard! I don't know the benefits to being a member of the EU, but I'd like to find out before I vote out.
  7. F

    eu in or out poll

That is a superb arguement for "in"...I'm undecided, as I haven't studied the pro's and con's of EU membership. I fully intend to get informed, and make a considered, rational decision. My worry is that the nation's xenophobes and racists will vote us "out" without thinking of the repercussions.

Poulet Basquaise... It's a Basque chicken stew

I'll start this off: Poulet Basquaise... It's a Basque chicken stew. I had this for the first time on a 4x4 trip, cooked by a genuine frenchman in a dutch oven on an open fire (the recipe below is done in the oven) but you can do it on a stovetop. It's become a regular meal in our house, and...

LED lighbars....anyone using a "cheap generic" one?

Cheers Lads, I'll give one a go! I'm maybe going to stick a couple of these in the rear bumper for decent reversing lights too: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281878112463?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

LED lighbars....anyone using a "cheap generic" one?

In my quest for an unnecessary amount of light on the front of my 120 I'm thinking of putting a 17" lightbar between my lighforce 170's. They come up at around £40 on ebay. anyone using something similair?

    First MOT fail :(

12 mo on.....Another pass, no advisories:dance: My only spend this year was on new rear discs and pads, which have been dubious for the last couple mot's. It needs a waxoyl, but thtas a job for spring. I still love driving it. I can live with the mpg, especially over the last few days with...

    60 000 miles and still going strong...GG at 2

Just cracked 130k on the 120. I fitted a set of at2's when I bought it at 70k, and they are still going strong! i rotate the wheels every couple years, and the wear is an even 6-8 mm on each tyre. could not be happier with a tyre!

Just round the corner from me. I'm by no means a mechanic, but will do an initial inspection / test drive if anyone doesn't want a totally wasted journey.

    Diff lock confusion...

They're superb, LC specialists and enthusiasts, great lads, and not too far from you in SH! They have a garage and a shop stocking all sorts. I use them for Mot's, and get them to look the lc over to pre empt any issues. 100% trustworthy.

    Diff lock confusion...

If you're really stuck you could always run the car over to http://westcoastoffroad.co.uk/ near southport. They'll change all your fluids, and show you what everything does! Every other year I get them to drop the diff, gear and transfer box oils. I could do It myself, but you're 100% certain...

Sugru - has anyone used it?

I've used it too. Works very well, adheres indefinately (well, four years in a wet, high friction environment). Limited shelf life once opened though, so don't buy too much!

    Retrofit cruise control?

Nothing in any breakers? Douglass valley near you (and me) had a 120 recently. I've got cruise in my lc4, and would not be without it! I'd be surprised if this was much of a job, with modern cars a lot of the "gubbins" for ugraded options is in situ but blanked off / not enabled in the...

    First MOT fail :(

Still, I've taken it in four times and it's passed:icon-biggrin: It's still on all the original bulbs (apart from the hids I fitted), and has only had advisories for the airbag light and worn rear pads in the past. In all seriousness, although I'd have liked it to pass, 11 years of passed...

    First MOT fail :(

My 120 had never failed an mot.... until today:cry: It's just hit 120k, and it's 11 years old, so it had to fail sometime.... The centre box of the exhaust had failed ( You couldn't tell ), but 11 years for an exhaust isn't bad, and the airbag warning light which has been on for the 5 years...

    Headlight deflectors for France

Save your money: I copied the pattern of hella deflectors with gaffa tape zoom in, you'll see where to put it:
  46. F

What's NOT to like about the Oztent?

I use a couple of harris (or similair) extendable decorators poles as extra poles for the front awning (£6 ish) each, and use standard guys (£5 tops): a massive saving over oztent's offerings.
  47. F

What's NOT to like about the Oztent?

The fly sheet is designed for hot weather: it's silvered to reflect heat. A massive bonus (alongside the extra waterproofing and reduced condesation) is it keeps the tent nice and dark in the morning. We leave ours attatched too.

    Fuel Economy

    28 +/- 2 on a tank, I do drive pretty sensibly ( 60 -65 mph on m-way). I get 460 -480 miles before the fuel light comes on.
