    World's Deepest Swimming Pool

I've done the UKs deepest in the 80's! The challenge was to get to the bottom, do a full circle round the outside, then come up, took me about 2 weeks to work up to it - it'd kill me nowadays tho

    TrackExplorer v2 available

Good show, cheers Jon:thumbup: I noticed that from your screenshot example above, looks like Strata area. It's been an education all this mapping malarkey, if I'd known about the free map conversion issues with MM earlier I'd probably have gone for something else, noticed MOBAC also does...

Re GLASS say no more, I have some thoughts too, but that's a campfire conversation  There's some 'new blood' coming in, we live in hope  Very comendable giving it away, I love that philosophy  Would you mind if I point some Northants lads at it? I'm trying to get more people...

    TrackExplorer v2 available

I dunno, the whole database is exportable now, there was posative muttering towards someone adding it's features to an app or something not long ago. Have you thought about making TE shareware or something? Seems there's loads of people crying out for something similar to MM without the cost of...

    TrackExplorer v2 available

Looks good Jon! I mite have a play with it once the current 200 file batch process running on my PC stops (in about a month:lol:) it'd save me one step of map processing compared to converting to MM. I thought the old wayfinder thing was defunct when it all migrated to Trailwise, bet...

Maps for anywhere in the world on Memory Map

Think the issue is only with OS Landranger or Explorer maps products, which are the best for ROW details. Memory Map & Viewranger use a proprietry format, you can buy a £15 licence from Memory map to import any map you've made/found/scanned, Ozi maps whatever, no such thing with ViewRanger as...

Maps for anywhere in the world on Memory Map

If you have Ordnance Survey Landranger or Explorer maps for UK, then these are likely illegal counterfeit maps.

Maps for anywhere in the world on Memory Map

And now I get any format into MM I've got the best of both worlds  I could even layer different versions of maps over each other and create the best of all worlds mapping:icon-ugeek:

Maps for anywhere in the world on Memory Map

Aye Wout was telling me he uses oziexplorer and make the maps with MOBAC 1.8 with the 4umaps.eu as the mapsource. I had a look at Ozi, found the interfce a bit 1980's, couldn't find if the track draw tools could be made wider like you can on MM (I'd need reading glasses unless the track was...

LC 200 2013 India GPS Maps

If you can access the chip/system from a PC and find the currently installed maps, export them into a program that can analyse them, find the format they use, and which datum system that format requires, you should be able to make your own maps and export them in the correct format. Maybe Toyota...

Life on the Edge (Alps July 16)

Sure mate, send me a PM with an email address I'll send them over tomorrow. Life on the Edge (Alps July 16)

if you've not looked on Wikiloc recently have a look around the area, it's getting really popular now, I get area updates almost daily with new tracks near mine, RBs will never keep up with it!

Life on the Edge (Alps July 16)

Andy, yeah I've already got that "I wanna go back" feeling too, a week is just too short a time round there methinks! I missed loads off the video too, one of the lads is a pro film chap gave me strict instructions not to make the film too long, his 4 min timeline went right out the window tho...

Life on the Edge (Alps July 16)

Blimey I wouldn't fancy some of those Alpine tracks if it was slippy! We had a bit of snow, the road we were going to use was closed, the postman stopped us going up it pointing at the matrix signs and translating it to illegal unless we had chains fitted, he got a bit animated when one of our...

Started editing the video from our Alps trip, here's a short taster... I asked the wife to look out the window and see how much room I had... "let me out NOW" Then I had that "Ooooo I cut it too close, I'll have to reverse and get even closer to the edge" moment

    Trip to UK this Sept.

I think the goods would have to be purchased in your name, delivered to your relatives woud still be OK I think as long as you can get the correct form from the retailer (form VAT 407), you claim the VAT back via the form though customs at the airport/port on export, they will inspect the form...

What have you or plan to put behind your Gullwings??

I'm still umming and ahhhing about ideal layout, I could change the ladder for one of those telescoping jobbies, but I'm not that keen on them tbh or with back seats in, and the fridge the other way round (one seat folded up) it'd give me a little more leg room, and the ladder/awning poles...

What have you or plan to put behind your Gullwings??

It's easy done! I did the same thing leaving a campsite in the Alps, lucky one of the other chaps alerted me on the CB! I've changed my mind about boxing them in having used them on a trip, so easy to get stuff like tent ladder, awning sides, and stuff out the back of the cargo net without...

    Clunking noise when breaking

caliper bolt loose/missing? (only had it happen on a LR tho!) Best finding which wheel it's coming from and have a look if you suspect it's from brakes really, suppose could be one of the bushes as the weight shifts or something else less important!

    Mild Death Wobble

Had a bit of a weird spot in the steering recently, as if it was catching on somthing at about 12-o-clock position, getting worse over the last 100 miles or so. Today it developed into a death wobble after hitting a pot hole on a duel carridgeway at 60mph, violent shaking of the steering wheel...

Whats the furthest you've ever traveled with your cruiser?

I try to plan on 10 hour max, can do 14 hours but I'm getting cranky by the end! When I moved house last time I did a 150 mile trip 5 times with a trailer on, loaded and unloaded a 20ft container twice, and the car/trailer 3 times, started at 6am finished at 5 am, possibily the hardest days...

i KNOW NOTHING about CB radio so

you're best checking the SWR as near the rig as possible really Shayne, often the coax can form part of the antenna sytem in mobile setups, it shouldn't in theory in a 'perfect' system, but often it does because things arn't often 'perfect' on vehicles.

Patriot, Hannibal or Tembo roof rack

few comments on my Patriot, which can't be much more than a year old since David bought it. The nature of the gutter clamps on the 80 means they have to be slid down the gutter from the end, then the crossmembers bolted on, the stainless bolts go into a retained (or rather loose) plate inside...

ATF overheating in the Alps - Help

That must be an old pic, it was like the one in my avatar pic with the 3x8" spots, you can make out the 3" wide alluminium under them, number plate is now stuck on the bonnet too. Cheers Lorin, where's your way? I wouldn't mind someone in the know taking mine for a spin either! Trevor ain't convinced it's more than weight and ratios, but it's been a while since he drove it too. I had a bit of smoke, not black except the odd puff when it changed down hard on the gas. I...

All sounds good chaps, would monitoring the EGT/boost give me any clues as to pump performance?
