    1987 BJ73 3B [SOLD]

Hi Tony. davidchj45 is correct. You will need a different input shaft. This is the reason there's a rebuild kit included. There are 3 different input shafts to fit various engines. Different lengths with different number of splines. Not sure which you'll need for a 2H. There are many threads...

    1987 BJ73 3B [SOLD]

Make me an offer Tony, but the rebuild kit is £300 never opened. The Terrain Tamer kit (which this isnt) is £700 plus. in France, where there are more of H55F knocking about they sell for anywhere between 1500 and 3000 euros. 500 is as cheap as you'll ever find cheers

Help wanted - 70 Series Steering Box Rebuild

Hi Jacob. Terrain Tamer do a rebuild kit and theres a rebuild video on you tube. Its pretty comprehensive. If the main shaft has been remachined it might need slightly different seals but they should be easy enough to source. Euro 4x4 do a rebuild kit as well. Half the price of the Terrain Tamer.

    Engine Swap VM for 3B

I have an H55F gearbox removed from a 1990 4 cylinder 2.5 TD VM on the bench in my workshop. Just went and checked it. It has the F, 2F, 3F, H, 2H, 12HT type H55 input shaft. I do not know if this will fit a 1HZ but it definitely won't fit a 3B. Let us know how you get on.

    Engine Swap VM for 3B

Hi all. The gearbox (H55F) and transfer is the same. See image for input shafts. But the diffs are different. The VM model has a low range diff (4.56 ratio) and has noticeably "sportier" performance than the 3B model which could be described at best as agricultural. I have no idea what kind of...

    BJ73 help and advice

Hi Mike. Quick answer. Top end Yes. Bottom end send to George at VM motors in Chesterfield. He is the go to man for VM rebuilds in the UK and did one for me about 5 years ago. I hope he's still going. I think i have posted links to the 5 cylinder manual on here. Have a root through my posts.

BJ73 VM 5 cylinder fuel lift pump

Hi Mike. If memory serves there is an oblong rubber o ring seal to rear of the lift pump. You could make a gasket out of card or use silicone mastic. I have the part number somewhere for the 4 cylinder. I'd put money on it being the same. I also have the workshop manual for the 4 and 5...

    Kzj/lj70 gearbox rebuild

For your truck it will be on the vin plate riveted to the top of the bulkhead at the back of the engine bay. It's probably an H55F. On the LJ box im not sure. I've got one on the bench here. There are paper stickers on top of the transfer box but mine have worn off. There are also codes stamped...

    Kzj/lj70 gearbox rebuild

What is the gearbox code? In the H41/H42/H50/H55F manual the only sensor attached to the gearbox is "Back up light and shift point sensor" Does the KZJ have a light on the dash that tells you when to change gear and or any kind of light related to gearbox? My guess is this sensor is not in...

Bj73 vm 5 cylinder steering box

Hi Mike. If my memory serves the power steering pump is a Toyota unit. If you email Nick Ould at Euro 4x4 I believe he has a parts catalogue for the VM powered BJ73s specific to those models. By way of reassurance, the VM engine is a much better unit tha a lot of people would have you...
