Brakes auto engaging when car heats up.

Hi Liam. Touch each of the wheels in turn at the centre where they bolt to the disc/drum. If the wheel is hot that will tell you it is binding. It is not unusual for the drums on rear to bind somewhat when they have been disassembled if they have not been adjusted correctly when reassembled...

    Valuation?

Starting up a new business, need to raise some cash. My mind is far from made up but giving some thought to selling the BJ73. Japanese built, reinforced axles, extra shock mounts (2 per corner), 3B with genuine 160,000 km. Scrubs up quite well for a 33 year old. Only got a few bits wrong...

Prado 95 Noise at highway speed, Any ideas???

Daft question I know but is 4WD engaged? If the light on the dash doesnt come on 4WD wind up can cause otherwise untraceable vibrations. Would expect it at slightly lower speed though.

    Advice on buying 70's series

Expext some rust on the tub but killer rust will be underneath. Ask for photos of tub underside particularly around mount points. The engine this version has is bombproof if looked after. Will literally run until the end of time. Not a fast truck. Slow off the mark and slow up hills, but...

    modern ish 4x4s and mpg.

Calculated the mpg on the 33 year old BJ73 with 3.4 diesel 3B on last winters round trip to Ibiza. Gearbox fault, so no 5th gear. Stayed off motorway, didn't do much more than 55mph as a result. Gave a solid 29/30 mpg. Very happy and not a little surprised.

RHD to LHD frame conversion is it difficul?

I'm not 100% sure on this but what Roger says sounds right. The biggest obstacle to changing sides is the tub. If you're dropping a LHD tub onto a RHD axle there might be issues if some of the mounts are asymmetrical. Iwan might know. I think some of the mount points differ on versions fitted...

    h55f Gearbox issue

I invested (and I mean invested) in this set of extractors. Used several times in the last year... phenomenally good. Will remove studs even if you drill them wildly off centre. Like Iwan said a good tap with a small drift might loosen cos it's not under much tension. drilling it might loosen...

    Adrian Flux spanked

Yup. I've wondered this myself. I'm guessing they can view the mileage online with the DVLA MOT history, but do they charge you extra? Invalidate your insurance? You can guarantee they'll use it to not pay out... and what about value of vehicles? Half the club members drive collectors items...
