Air con for 80 series required

If you acclimatise there is no sweating because you’re used to the temperatures. OP is talking about an overland trip.........

Air con for 80 series required

Regularly do long trips in the Sahara without AC. Only time I wished it work was when we caught in a big sandstorm with 45 degree temperatures. You’re much better off acclimatising to the weather conditions your travelling in than sitting in a cooled box. Most long term travellers I’ve met...

Quick Awning poll question - driver side or passenger side??

Depends which side you live out of. I live out of the passenger side when camped so on the rare occasion I put up the awning it’s on that side Most of the people I’ve travelled with, with awnings have never deployed it for the trip when we’ve been moving on everyday

    Wheel arch flare clips

and rubber and they don't need a tool at all! I used aluminium on my storage system but that's inside so corrosion isn't a worry. used rubber ones on low stress applications as they're not quite as permanent as the metal ones. Not sure they'd be upto the job for the flares though

    Brake upgrade soon.

There’s been a bit of mud winter 2017 and 2018 and several deep water crossings but mostly dust sand and rocks. I got a stone stuck inside the disc edge once but so far nothing in the drilled holes

    Duel battery conundrum.....

DS is direct to Alternatorthen there’s a cable that goes across to PS and from there to Starter. DS is earthed back to alternator or engine iirc and also to the body. PS is earthed back to starter only from what I can see. (Mine definately wont start off the passenger side although other...

AC on the KZ can be removed with no detriment to my knowledge. You won’t need a smaller belt because the AC belt is entirely separate to the alternator. mines been disconnected for year as I find I don’t need it even in the Sahara at 35+ degrees. Keep toying with converting the compressor to...

    Duel battery conundrum.....

One thing which always baffles me on the Colorado is that it will start off 1 battery, if its the drivers side battery connected but not if its only the passenger side. Starter is on the passenger side and the cable goes up to the PS battery then across to DS and then the fusebox. The...

With regards to water capacity, rule of thumb for extreme heat, say 40degrees in the sahara, is 7.5l per person per day and carry 3 days reserve. So for a 6 day trip you would need 135l for 2 people. In temperate climates you can almost halve that 3 people in the Western Sahara in April...
