No. The CloudFlare error was the one that says everything is OK at their end, but the forum server is unreachable. Presumably a temporary glitch in the Matrix, as we're all back now.

Hmmm... I've just tried logging in on my [Android] phone and it worked OK. If you're still unable to login on your phone, you could try clearing your browser's cache [There should be an option for that in Settings somewhere] although I'm not 100% sure that'll fix it as I suspect it's a session...

2000 LWB Colorado VX Auto 1KZ-TE Project -- Good Engine & Tranny -- Chassis Needs Welding -- No MOT

Just in case there's nothing decent for you on the telly tonight, I did a quick walkaround and crawlunder video of the Collie:

2000 LWB Colorado VX Auto 1KZ-TE Project -- Good Engine & Tranny -- Chassis Needs Welding -- No MOT

There you go then. £1750 for the engine and I'll throw in a good autobox, 4 wheels, a cab an interior --and a rusty chassis to carry it all!

2000 LWB Colorado VX Auto 1KZ-TE Project -- Good Engine & Tranny -- Chassis Needs Welding -- No MOT

The trouble is; the engines and trannies are bullet proof. But the chassis are tin worm magnets. So finding one with a mint chassis [regardless of the state of the mechanicals] is nigh on impossible.

Selling my 2000 LWB Colorado VX Auto 1KZ-TE --See Classifieds

I hope this isn't infringing the rules. But just to let my fellow Collie forum frequenters know, I've listed mine in the classifieds section. No tax or MOT and chassis/sills need work doing. But engine & tranny are sound. I'm only after £1750 ONO for it. Surely easily worth that, even just as a...

2000 LWB Colorado VX Auto 1KZ-TE Project -- Good Engine & Tranny -- Chassis Needs Welding -- No MOT

Yeah. It is a bit of a bummer. In spite of everything, I really like the truck. It's like driving a big comfy sofa. I had a lift in my neighbour's newer Mitsubishi L200 and couldn't believe how crude it was, compared to my Collie. None of the 'stuff' it needs doing is hugely major in itself...

2000 LWB Colorado VX Auto 1KZ-TE Project -- Good Engine & Tranny -- Chassis Needs Welding -- No MOT

Oh. I've still been here. Mostly just lurking though, as my Cruiser was laid up for the winter. I think Ive priced myself out of that market now. I kind of regret selling my T3 Syncro for 'only' £7500, as they're going for stupid money now, in a much worse state than mine was. I'm actually...

2000 LWB Colorado VX Auto 1KZ-TE Project -- Good Engine & Tranny -- Chassis Needs Welding -- No MOT

Well, the on/off, will he/won't he saga with my Colorado continues: I'd taken the batteries out and left it parked up at the end of our lane since about the end of December, when the MOT ran out --planning to get tore into it when the warmer weather came along. So, yesterday i thought it was...

'For Your Viewing Pleasure' -- Suggestions for Hidden YouTube Gems?

By coincidence, I just stumbled upon that channel myself a week or so ago. I nearly didn't watch the vid as it looked like one of those annoying "look at my hawt girlfriend, everyone!" ones on YouTube, that masquerade as being about mechanicals or suchlike. After watching a couple of her vids...

Yay! --thread archaeology time again. Here are a couple of new ones I've stumbled across recently 1: COLIN FURZE -- I'd never heard of this guy before. He just popped up in my feed one day and I thought he was just another YouTuber. But, apparently he's been on Sky, so is a 'proper' telly...

Another good thing about the comparison sites is that, once you've got all your details stored there, you can quickly get quotes for vehicles you've not bought yet, by just editing the previous quote and putting in the new reg no.. So, when [metaphorically] pressing my nose against the shop...

Rising Energy Costs and Electric Vehicles

The speed limits were introduced when most cars still had drum brakes all round and ABS was unheard of. In addition, tyre technology has also improved greatly in the intervening years. So, while 70moh might have been considered the limit of safe driving 'back in the day' when the limits were...

Rising Energy Costs and Electric Vehicles

True. Tony seems to be in the lucky position where he's getting a brand new EV almost for free, while the costs of running one are --I predict-- being kept artificially low to encourage their adoption. After which point --I also predict-- 'the market will be allowed to find its own level' [or...

Rising Energy Costs and Electric Vehicles

It'll be interesting to see what happens with the 2nd hand market, as regards the wider adoption of EVs. I've never been able to even nearly afford a new vehicle and most of the motors I've bought have been 10, 20, or more years old. With a bit of luck and some decent maintenance, you can get...

Rising Energy Costs and Electric Vehicles

It just struck me the other day that-- what with all these energy price hikes [60% since last year and another 50% apparently on the way] and a lot of people barely able to afford to put the heating on in the depths of winter-- the much vaunted economic benefits of EVs must be starting to pale a...

Ah. Got it. I've only ever tried to start the engine in Neutral Same here. Every time I looked at the dipstick, it just looked like someone had randomly splashed ATF across it. There was no visible demarcation line across, like you get with the oil dipstick. I think in the end I managed it...

How Many Miles After Fuel Warning Light Comes On?

How Many Miles After Fuel Warning Light Comes On?

I know that's a bit of a "How long is a piece of string?" question. But roughly how much juice is left in the tank after the orange fuel warning light comes on? Mine came on yesterday on the way to collect the missus from work. Only 4 miles there and back, but up lots of steep, narrow, windy...

Was this the red fire truck that could not sell?

It got relisted recently and went for a cool 21 grand.... I must say, I think it's an ugly fecker. That chopped off rear end makes the proportions look all wrong [or maybe it's just the weird mobile phone fish-eye effect]. But, with only 3500 miles on the clock and a mint chassis, I'd...

Someone did buy it. Only one bid at the start price of £3150. So may have got a nice deal there... or not, depending on wether they looked underneath or not. Well, I haven't got the cash to buy it at the moment anyway. Need to sell my van first... or rape the credit cards. So, letting the 1st auction run out and waiting to see if someone else buys it, or it gets relisted gives me a bit more time to ponder the logistics involved. Strictly Little...
