Doesn't sound ideal to be bouncing round in the back of the truck. I assume the 3 way ones all work on the same system... There's thermo electric, absorption (the 3 way ones) and compressor (caravan fridges and propper waeco's).

Hey chaps, Was really impressed with Gav's Waeco at Lincomb, notably its very low draw. I'd really like one myself but being a tight git I'm on the lookout for a cheaper option. There's a waeco 3 way cooler that doesn't boast quite the same specs as the fridge but will run on gas aswell as 12v...

Go see all the ones you can find on local forecourts and test drive them, that should give you a bench mark to measure others by. Alot can be said by going with the general feel of a vehicle... If it handles and pulls well then it has probably had an easy life.

Sorry Jim, Gotta correct you there... ANDY my co driver promptly got stuck after giving him the wheel, handy opportunity to check my winch out. I should point out than his girlfriend Annabel managed to drive the bombhole both ways without getting stuck despite never having driven offroad before!

There was a mitsubushi l200 camping down there. I saw the doughnuts, done on the 2nd day I reckon, looked like a tighter circle than an l200 would manage.

I use the tesco ones, all rubber/plastic. Work very well for about a year, less to damage and not overpriced.

I made friends with a tent maker and we made one for the back of my pickup. Awning rail rivited to the truckman top, back door holds the tent up (assisted by an adjustable pole) no guy lines needed even in high winds. I lined the roof of the truckman and fitted lights and a sectional bed. Takes...

Not sure that would pass with hmrc? there are only certian substances deemed passable.

I know of a few that have had wvo/bio put the old pump seals through. Replace with new and no further troubles. Seems to be capable of finishing off tired seals.

Not much... I drive an Isuzu Trooper, all reports suggest they cope quite well as long as the injectors are kept clean. I'm cold gravity filtering down to 1 mic then settling/dewatering. Plan was to run at about 50%, heated filter and an extra heater just before the pump in the hope of avoiding...

Ok so I'm a complete pooter retard, but being very naff at navigation I have been forced to face my fears. So I bought a couple of old laptops (one pre-dates dvd drives), fettled them up a little and loaded up mem map and the maps, got a reciever and hey presto, look like a nav pro/pooter whiz...
