    Conversion time

It's on it's way. On it's way finally to have it's upgrade/conversion. FTE engine, bigger turbo and intercooler and 8HP gearbox. Should hopefully be done in a month. Should make it better on the road when towing the Metalian trailer and better off road when green laning.

    Saturday afternoon playtime.

Today I finished dismantling this old 100 series. It came cheap with the last MOT fails reading like War and Peace. Corrosion wasn't in it, it was very poor. However the saving grace was that it came with full service history on 180 K so the engine was a peach. So then decided to replace the...

    Resurrected

Today I brought this 80 out of the storage barn where it had been since 2011. It's a petrol version which I ran from 2010-11 and then put away to run something else. When I ran it it ran as well as you would expect at 106k miles. both times I tested it it passed no advisories, in fact it hadn't...

    Don't tempt providence.

Probably suffering from a little " commentator's curse" here. Having in conversation been extolling the virtue's of our 120, telling everyone how good and reliable it was, providing every day transport for Maria, comfortable etc about a month ago I had by chance a drive in it. Now i'm not...

    Interesting 60.

This is a pretty local 60 which the owner ( Ian) has resurrected after being stood in an orchard for 10 years. It's got a rebuilt engine and is mechanically very good. However there were a few jobs which we've been getting through with a good few small missing parts just to finish. One main...

    Changed the front end.

I've had the alloy front bumper on the 80 for a good while now, which I have liked but doing quite a bit of green laning I've felt the need to fit a winch as nearly everyone I go out with has one. I've had the tubular bar and winch tray on an 80 I've had kicking about for at least 10 years so I...

    Hesitation on my V6 Collie

This might require a bit of help from overseas where the V6 Prado/Colorado is a bit more common. The Collie starts up and runs fine but when it's warm it has a hesitation for a second before it sets off from a tickover, as you would set off from a junction or entering a roundabout from a...
