Thanks for the heads up @fbnss
Think @jah would also benefit from seeing how you set the position of the heater to allow connection of a takeoff pipe and your snazzy perspex window doofer.
how did you find the experience @GeekOKent ? Im not particularly keen on the stadium lights but other than that I've been waiting for them to appear here.
EF products are certainly very capable. My folks use a Delta Max for peak load shaving and we have a little River Pro for running all the gear in our ground tent.
If you don't want to or know how to build a custom system these are a great option.
I'm not sure either unit is designed for...
@oneafrikan as nick said your video sounds exactly like mine did when we disconnected the fuel pump and turned the engine over. So I was suggesting it sounds like a lack of fuel problem.
if there's fuel in the tank and it's priming it may be the immobilizer which, correct me if I'm wrong, will...
Only time I've heard my 80 make that noise is while turning over with the fuel pump disconnected. You sure diesel is making it to the engine?
There's so much water in my cable channels you could keep fish there so I doubt the problem is with your loom.
@Howmanygoes looks great. As nick said I built something similar.
A couple of points to consider based on my build:
Wrap the exhaust - the heat coming off the short section of pipe inside the box was enough to overheat the unit with the lid on. Wrapping it with some of that exhaust fiberglass...
@Bodie if you've got the kit and all the fixings I'd be happy to give you a hand installing it over the weekend. Should take maybe an hour / 90min depending on how you want to run the intake and exhaust.
@Bodie yep, I drilled the sender on the main tank.
Like I said, I had the bits lying around and in my head it was much neater to drill the sender than fitting T pieces and reducers to get the right hose diameter for the blue plastic heater pipe.
Most people just tee off the fuel return line, I didn't have the right size hose and did have a spare pickup lying around from my heater-in-a-box build so I installed that in the stock sender.
Power wise, I also have leisure battery so it wasn't an issue.
I wouldn't change a thing. It's a tidy little install that kicks out an incredible amount of heat and vents the exhaust well away from anything important.
One thing I have left to do is fit a platform above it to prevent accidental damage but I'll get to that over the winter when I rebuild the...
@chapel gate did a write up a while ago on the winter tyres he uses and the difference they make getting up and down his drive.
Having been up to his patch I can safely say I wouldn't attempt his drive in anything other than tank tracks so those winter jobbies must be good!

that makes my blood boil... glad they didn't mange to make off with it.
On a side note, that's some pretty poor CCTV footage.. I'd be having a word with whoever configured the settings on that camera/recorder.
My EGT gauge has separate wires for constant live and operational live. The constant live is required to "remember" your settings. That would make sense in this context if the LED needed to remember any settings, possibly the last setting selected via the remote? The schematic is for the gauges...

Hmmm given how low power most of those are and the proximity of your switches to your fuse panel I think you could lose most of those the next time you redesign the layout.
Relays are great if youre switching 20A lightbars and 50A compressors. Most of your loads are 3-5A so as long as they're...
yep - from memory theres a little round hump in the middle of the tank which i drilled out. The instructions below describe the procedure for fixing the flange. Once thats in the sender just screws into the flange.
I like the wema stuff, well built, the gauges look great and the high resolution...
Contraption indeed.. I used a Wema S3 sender which takes about 10 min 10 fit using the tank fitting flange.
