Bill, you're right, petrols always tricky - but we're in strange times - for a month or two diesel around here has been more expensive than E10 petrol! But of course less mileage..................... when last on the road a fill of the 100 litre LPG tank was £57.00 so not so bad.
Landlocked...
Sorry for being away so long - covid put me out of business and the LC off the road. So there she has sat, I don't want to sell [and yes will regret selling] but just can't justify keeping such a beautiful vehicle and not using it.
1995 petrol 1FZ - FE, Single point gas conversion, auto VX...
I managed to bend the tailgate [unloading a very heavy Irish woodburner] Not hugely bent and it still closes but the rear hatch now doesn't close properly. As a result the interior lights in the back doors stay on - no problem, disconnect them. Then alarm wont set so lock on key, next morning...
I'm near Diss. As I said I'm reluctant to sell it but you're welcome to have a look. 186,000 miles, usual VX stuff, leather etc. It's a working truck so not shiny perfect, but a good solid usable motor for a running restoration.
To be honest I reckon a 100 would suit you better - as has been mentioned the "perfect" 80 don't exist. A 100 will of course be newer, apparently far more refined [never driven one myself] and less rusty! Anyway, this is mine...
I'm reluctantly thinking of selling mine [but would rather not!] I am in Suffolk though so if you'd like to come and have a look at where they get tatty etc. You'd be very welcome. Would have to do the distancing thing though.
1995 VX Petrol auto, 2" lift, winch and LPG.
Agree, plus if it is a binding caliper one should be hotter than the other. Failing that has the vehicle suffered a thwack you don't know about? Any other drivers? Possibly somethings bent............... good luck
Well, showing great restraint I only looked at 1 to 13, will have to see what tomorrow brings....................... am mildly concerned that the 25th will download a massive virus!
check inner tyre sidewalls asap - had similar on a Jeep Cherokee, tyre snagging - by the time I found it there was a cut to the canvas! No idea how the stops got so out of adjustment...............................
That easy? to replace the entire unit? mines knackered cable and all - NOT just the mast. True I've not investigated far, but a peek underneath nothing to be seen, can it be got at from underbonnet? [having removed my LPG bits and bobs] thanks in advance,
Funnily enough this is on my to do list - bent welding rod at the moment...........................
How much hassle is it to replace the entire unit? inner wing out? and how much the replacement?
I've tried inner ones and not impressed, even a Blaupunkt one.
The problem around here is overgrown...
As title, four part warn BFG MT's - size equals 31"
Probably 40% wear
Two with at least 8mm tread [more like ten]
Two with 6 or 7 mm tread. [more like eight]
No perishing, cuts or punctures.
Collection from Diss Norfolk or Ipswich Suffolk.
Happy to label up for collection, Shiply etc.
£75.00...
I'm doing my wheel bearings today but as soon as I've done that I'll take it for a run and note RPM etc. Have you got the Overdrive button? on the shift - maybe you're out of o/d and your dash light doesn't work/? but logically that should raise revs so not likely the problem on 2nd thoughts...
I went to within sight of Wales for mine, luckily it's a good'un but there is a risk if you go a long way you're more likely to buy it after all the effort, as walking away to think for a few days adds hassle...................
Perhaps not if it cost you a £600.00 job and threatened your businesss............. funnily enough my customers didn't take to a £200.00 price hike - and I couldn't afford a new compliant sprinter.
I fear I have to disagree [with upmost respect] old diesels are a very easy target - not many of them about, but clearly very smokey, by comparison not many votes lost [just a few nutty enthusiasts] but government will be seen to be doing something. Already I'm priced out of London work because...

Funny how Jaguar Land Rover had "no choice" but to axe the Defender as it was too boxy for modern regs. yet the G-Wagon still keeps rolling off the line.............................
I bid on one before I bought the 80 - good nick, lwb 5 door,it was in the Highlands. 99p start and it made £9000.00! I've a feeling/hope that good 80's and 100's will go the same way............................. [eventually!]
My tyre troubles rumble on - literally.
Having failed to find a set of BFG A/Ts I was well chuffed to be offered a set of Cooper ST, having done some research they seemed good and the tread pattern is more like an aggressive A/T. Plus my spare is a totally unused ST [picture 1]
