    Looking for advice

Thanks for the offer but I have been all over the web looking at sizes and if the follow the BFG sizes then they wont be a direct swap. I am also reluctant to fit tyre copies given the mileage I do, I would rather go for originals if I can sort the right size. Jon

    Looking for advice

What is annoying is that whether I stick with the 18 inch rims or swap to 17 inch rims I don't seem to be able to get tyres which would keep the same rolling radius and at the moment I don't want to fit a suspension lift as it would invalidate the warranty. Currently 265/60R18 so I think the...

    Looking for advice

I am looking to to swap the standard 18" alloys and M+S tyres on my 150 for some wheels/tyres more suitable for winter. I am thinking about some 17" steel wheels and either winter tyres or decent All Terrains. Can anyone recommend a decent supplier in the south (I live in Guildford) that could...

After spending too many years taking too many flights, about 10 yrs ago I decided I had had enough and changed my job. It took 6 yrs before I would take a plane for a holiday and I will still use any other reasonable means of travel possible before getting on a plane again. I have a couple of...

    Are they really as good?

I bought a LC4 150 in March. So far I have done 17k in it, mostly on the m/way with occasional excursions off road around my parents (which is why I need 4x4). Compared with the Freelander 2 I had before it is terrific, though perhaps a little bit more thirsty. Strangely the FL2 over estimated...

Continental Breakdown cover - Yes or No

I have just put 6 months of Euro Plus cover onto our green flag membership for £76, which seems quite expensive, however we we are going to do around 3.5k miles and there are 7 of us, so it would be a bloody nuisance if we didn't have some decent cover and we needed it. Out of curiosity, does...

    HTC phones

I have an HTC windows phone, connecting it to a W7 laptop not a problem, however it exhibits all the same faults as you describe with your current HTC. I few months ago I bought my son a Motorola defy android phone, tough, not the latest tech so reasonably priced and he thinks it is excellent...

    Front underbody protection

    Towing strap/shackles

I am looking to get hold of a rated towing strap and shackles for use with my 150. Can anyone recommend a supplier? What rating strap would be recommended for towing, say, another Landcruiser out of a sticky situation? I was thinking about a 5 ton strap at least, the others seem a bit light to...

Using the rear recovery point on an auto 150

Reading the manual for my 150 it says that you should not use the rear tow point on an auto. Does this mean not use at all? Is it OK to tow backwards out of a sticky situation if the car is being driven in reverse at the same time?? Any hints here gratefully received as I would have thought...

How long to really run in a new cruiser?

I can see I may have caused some confusion here. I am not poodling about at slow speeds all the time, a lot of my driving is at a steady speed around the legal limit on motorways, as I do a lot of travel round the country interspersed with trips up and down some unmade tracks at regular...

How long to really run in a new cruiser?

Coming up on 3k miles on my shiny 150. I am curious as to how long people think it takes to really run in the drivetrain? I am currently getting around 6 miles/litre which for such low mileage I reckon is OK. I expect this to improve as the miles increase, in my previous Freelander the MPG...

    Travelling abroad

OK, a very basic question. Taking a 150 LC4 abroad, I presume I need to change the dipped headlamp pattern. Is the best solution still the old stick on bits of plastic? Is it possible to adjust the adaptive headlights?? Cheers Jon

OK, good things and not so good things on my LC4 so far (compared against my previous car, a Freelander 2.2 diesel auto HSE). Bear in mind I have only done about 200 miles in it so far. Good Very quiet to drive, in fact it is so quiet compared to the Freelander I may be getting a letter from a...

And finally, dratted dealer can't deliver until next week, apparently their driver is busy at the moment. So I am going to have to go collect it myself. Still, a nice little trip out I suppose. By the by, I did fancy some driving lights as I thought they would be a) useful and b) looked good...

    D4D injector problems

I am about to take delivery of a shiny new LC4 and just wanted to confirm something. Just wanted to check if this is...
