    Which Replacement Headlight Bulbs

I replaced both the low and high beam standard bulbs with the HIR bulbs. The increase wasn't dramatic but definitely noticeable and quite welcome, it's a cheap and worthwhile upgrade in my opinion.

    Rear Diff lock switch...

My Japanese 2004 LC100 4.7 v8 is the same - Rear LSD, Centre Diff Lock (CDL), no rear difflock. I was reading up a bit on it today by coincidence. Mine has the A750F 5-speed gearbox and the centre-diff in it is of a Torsen type, apparently. From what I understand the front is not LSD.

Recommend me a reverse/backup camera pleas

Just to report back... in the end I bought another of the same model. Turns out the first one was just "dead" somehow. This way I didn't have to drill new holes, I have it mounted just above the rear plate. Camera is now working fine - have nothing to compare to so can't comment on quality vs...

Correct Idle Speed for 2002 4.7 Petrol Amazon

My 2004 100-series VX (Japanese version) 4.7 petrol idles at 600 when in Drive and brake on. A little higher in Park. I never worked that one out. Disconnecting the battery for a while then reconnecting has solved any idling issues for me in the past, allowing the engine to "reset" itself. But I...

Recommend me a reverse/backup camera pleas

Dear Olazz, Thanks for your kind assistance. I am indeed a pillar of the community and there is no doubt my LC100 would be a most fruitful partner to the life of any reverse camera. However I need you to provide me with the contact and personal characteristics of the reverse camera you have so...

Recommend me a reverse/backup camera pleas

Hi, I recently installed a new stereo (Pioneer AVH-2450BT) to my 100-series Landcruiser. I also bought a cheap reverse camera - this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0088LXTTM/ I ran all the wiring but when it came to testing the camera it seems the one I received was a dud and doesn't...

    Compressor, pressure release valves, questions...

Thanks for the reply Chris. Do you by chance have an idea how much such a switch would cost and where I'd get it from in the UK? Is it feasible to do this with a portable compressor or would there be wires trailing around? If I did install such a switch would that enable me to "set" a certain...

    Compressor, pressure release valves, questions...

Hi, So I bought a cheap chinese-made compressor. It's a dual-cylinder type and the specs are quite good (150lpm). I don't expect it to last forever but it's quiet and fast and I'm fairly happy with it. http://www.alhariri-dxb.net/uploadedFiles/1319527867046-3995.jpg However I didn't like the...

    Tie down/tow/recovery points

Since Warren very kindly sold me a pair of his hooks I now have two at front and two at back so I can use with a bridle. After slowly working their way to me here in Kenya I finally managed to paint them all red. Wow, what a difference! The car is so much faster, BHP and torque both up...

Where to obtain an APPS pedal sensor?

Well, it seems my problem has been fixed. My mechanic noticed that the metal to which the sensor is attached had been bent, causing the arm of the sensor and the plastic roller that runs along the pedal arm to not go straight. When the pedal is depressed the roller runs along the rod of the...

Importing a LC100 into South Africa

If you do ship RoRo as opposed to container, make sure to take pictures of every part of the vehicle before it ships. Know someone who bought 4x4 in UK, souped it up with nice tyres, stereo, etc then imported to Kenya. When it arrived it had crappy tyres and crappy stereo (i.e. they'd been...

Where to obtain an APPS pedal sensor?

Not sure about the numbers changing post-facelift, but I googled the part number I currently have and it's from a Toyota Corolla or something (!), not even from a Land Cruiser. There's a new one for sale on eBay UK but only with the whole pedal assembly and for 380 quid, which seems a lot to me...

    Tires

I'm newbie so will defer to your better knowledge. Was just going by posts on another forum that said the max size you could safely fit to a stock 100-series was 285/75/16. As we are talking R17 not R16, a look at BFG's specs here...

Recommend me a tyre pressure gauge?

Sorry I don't know the answer, but I am very interested in this subject too! Would also be interested in quality gauges that can be fitted to a compressor line (e.g. the T-Max compressor).

Where to obtain an APPS pedal sensor?

Hi, The Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) for my 2004 JDM-spec 100 series v8 (GH-UZJ100W-GNAGK) is not the correct one. I bought the vehicle used and later found out someone had rigged it with the sensor from another vehicle, held on with only one screw, probably because the old one had...

    Tires

I also have Grandtrek AT3, 275/65/R17. Haven't been that happy with them. Fine for road use but wasn't happy about lack of traction in the mud, although it's true they were about 50% worn. When I buy again I'll be getting BFG AT like the picture above, still can't decide whether to go for...

The new T-Max Adventurer air compressor........

Thanks for all the advice. I'll try to see what kind of cable is available locally first then try the site you mentioned. What I may do is run the cable to the footwell first and see how that works for me, if it doesn't work I can always add an Anderson extension to the boot later.

The new T-Max Adventurer air compressor........

Thanks Jon. Looks like 50mm is the way to go. So basically I just run the cable into the passenger footwell, then under the carpet all the way to the boot? That doesn't sound so bad. Any idea what length of cable one would need (UZJ100)? How and where did you mount yours in the boot? Roger -...

The new T-Max Adventurer air compressor........

Hi, Thought I'd post in this thread as it's along the same line. Getting tired of the time it takes with my crappy cigarette lighter inflator to pump the tyres (275/65/R17) on my 100 series. Done some reading, decided to go for a T-MAX compressor - the smaller 72lpm model as I don't need...

    100-series jacking points, hi-lifts, etc

    100-series jacking points, hi-lifts, etc

...are really stupidly placed. So I got a flat tire the other day and had to jack up the car using the jacking points on the diff/axle using the factory bottle jack. They are really hard to reach, especially with a flat tire, even on flat ground which luckily I was on. Had I been on uneven...

    Cambelt change interval (km's)

Just FYI, confusingly, my 2004 Japanese-spec 100-series VX UZJ100 v8 came with a 100,000km service interval sticker. From what I understand this is a JDM vs international difference, and I can't find any explanation for the difference, the parts are the same. Everywhere else got 90,000 mile /...

    Tie down/tow/recovery points

@warrenpfo - PM'd you If anyone's interested, according to my local Toyota dealer (who don't have any) the part numbers for the 100-series OEM hooks are 51961-60190 (front) and 51965-60031 (rear)

    Tie down/tow/recovery points

Very funny :-) I'm actually planning on doing the same as you though for a 100-series cruiser. Both getting another pair and painting red. Now you've had them a while, how are they working singly and with a bridle? Just curious. I'd love some proper recovery points but they seem impossible to...

    Carrying Jerry cans

The law aside (I live in Africa not UK, there are no rules on this here) what are your thoughts on carrying petrol in jerrycans.
