Hi,
The Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) for my 2004 JDM-spec 100 series v8 (GH-UZJ100W-GNAGK) is not the correct one.
I bought the vehicle used and later found out someone had rigged it with the sensor from another vehicle, held on with only one screw, probably because the old one had a fault and they couldn't find the part here in Kenya so rigged it with whatever they could manage. Parts are a nightmare here. Instead of the clip that the wires go onto on the vehicle, they just hardwired the sensor in, so I don't have the correct clip anymore either.
I believe that this has been sporadically causing the car to go into limp mode. If you want to read the gory details I wrote a post here:

I didn't have the problem again for a long time after I wrote that, but this week it's come back with a vengeance. The vehicle has gone into limp mode frequently this week. Usually it is cured temporarily with an ignition on/off, but not always.
Toyota here quoted me about 400 quid for ""#78010 - Pedal Assy, Accelerator" which I believe is the whole pedal with sensor, and a wait time of around 3-6 months to get it. Yeah, thanks.
So does anyone know where I might be able to obtain just the sensor on its own, new or used, in the UK or elsewhere? Or the whole pedal assembly with sensor for cheap?
And is there anyone with a similar vehicle who could read off the part number of the sensor itself to confirm? I looked on www.toyodiy.com but it just lists a part number for the whole pedal assembly:

Thanks
