My rear locker was not working so I took it off and sawed the bolt heads off thinking it would be easy to fix as was the one on my 80. However it is so corroded inside that even the housing is scrap and the innards are scrap. The insulator by one of the brushes is burnt so it must have been live and seized at some point. Is the relay protected or likely to be damaged? Where the devil is the relay?
I ask these questions as Toyota are willing to replace the locker under warranty even though vandallised, off the vehicle and in bits. I thought I would take them the relay as well if I could test it / find it.

Thanks

Frank

If the FSM doesn't give a clue where the difflock ecu is then I don't know, mine doesn't have OEM lockers :)

Find the Rear Diff.Lock Control ECU:
This is for a RHD 1998/1 to 2002/7

Fair Play.......... to Westlands Toyota, Stourbridge. They gave me a new diff lock motor F.O.C. within 24 hours even though I'd breached insurance terms by taking it off myself. They even said if any damage had occurred to any relays or ecu's they would fix these as well F.O.C.
Anyway all perfect now.
