I been interested in recharging LC spheres for sometime. In the 90's I ran Citroen XM's and used Pleiades for exchange spheres and other suspension parts. They're a specialist with many years experience with Citroen, Rolls Royces, Maseratis hydraulic suspension systems in addition to other marks such as Porsche and Ferrari who have used the system on old models (now classics).

The great thing about this company is that they offer longer warranties on reconditioned parts than the manufacturers offer on new parts, often modify parts to engineer out flaws and are happy to give expert advice on how to fit parts.

In the last couple of years they have had requests to recharge LC spheres (which makes sense given that AHC has been around for about 12 years on the 100 series and the lifespan is typically 10 years much better than other marques). They charge £45 per sphere, which is a massive saving on any other source!

However Spheres that have gone flat suffer from internal damage (Diaphram gets punctured by an internal rivet). ***SO IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT TO TREAT THIS AS A REGULAR SERVICE ITEM (MAYBE ONCE EVERY 5 YEARS) AND HAVE THEM REGASSED BEFORE THEY FAIL***

If you have hard suspension they can adapt a DS21 sphere to fit a LC but this costs more £100 per sphere - I think??

Also the more requests they receive for LCs the more likely they are to stock exchange units and invest in other parts. I'm going to take my truck in to help them understand what is involved to offer a fitting service. Contact Phill or Martin on 01487-831239

This looks like an interesting option for those that still have AHC and not too expensive to try out. If you get some let us know how it works out.
