Has anyone got t be answer? On my 96 VX the console and gear sticks knobs are walnut with the Toyota badge on the console were these fitted as standard ?

I've got them both; yes and no. Use as applicable.

Looking at them (and IMHO), I don't think they are OEM.

Standard knobs are black grained plastic and no logo either, mine has a chrome capped and fake wood trim on the handbrake which I haven't seen in other folks pics.

Wooden knobs were never OE. I have them but the main is from aJag and the transfer lever was made by a seller on Ebay.

the gear knobs on mine are OEM plastic,very grippy
your hand doesn't slip off even when your head's bouncing off the window and roof
