250 series on the road?

Called in the local Toyota dealer today for some service items for Marias 120 and they had this just put in the showroom as I was there.

Only the second one they've had to sell since October.

Called in the local Toyota dealer today to pick up an air filter for the 120. The 250 they had in the showroom was sold ( but not collected yet) but I mentioned that I had seen a black Invincible in the area. Turned out it was a local guy had to fetch it from Scotland as it was the only way he could get what he wanted. Apparently they are only going to get 2 a year every year.

They gifted me some bedtime reading, 868 pages of knowledge to be absorbed and thats only the owners manual.

Apparently you are supposed to buy these extra.

Toyota are either behind the curve or trying to make a bit more money from customers ....
The Wife's Merc Estate has the entire owners manual loaded on the car hard drive... it's just a swipe away on the screen... It also came with a massive paper volume of the same that's never been used and should you decide to do so would take far longer to find the info than looking on the car screen with built in shortcuts .

Seen this on the road the other day, not many about yet.

TBH I had to get up close to actually see what it was, it did look a bit anonymous in black.

I saw a 300 driving past on Friday, first I’ve seen possibly the last here. Not a bad looking thing, certainly different than the old 80!

Coincidence, saw my first 300 in the flesh yesterday on the M1, shiny black and lots of chrome, honestly i prefer the 200/100/80 (in no particular order) in the range of biguns.

Actually got out in the 250 yesterday, all of 40 miles each way. Getting to like it a bit better now. I appreciate it has a ton of tech on it but I don't think it's worth 20x the 120 we have.

That is a smart looking unit Andy. The value question is interesting, if I divided what I paid for my 90 back in 2008, per year and thought of it that way, then it was extremely cheap. Even considering the underbody work it will get, it's still cheap. You only live once and that 250 I'm sure is well earned

Weekend away camping in West Wales.

Towed the trailer with the 250 as the 80 is still out of action.

Only the second trip of any distance since I got it, around 350 miles round trip.

Got it up over 700 miles on the odometer

It's quiet if you don't ask too much of it.

Saw @Springate’s there and had a go in his 150 to compare. His is a 3L one so drives very similar to a 120 but more plush, I was impressed.

A lot of the lads went laning but I declined.

Bob, I think if you keep vehicles a long time and keep them good then it's a cheap way of motoring with a quality vehicle.
I lost £20k on my first 80 in 16 years. That works out at £40/week cost of ownership. Even back in those days that wasn't expensive for one of the dearest vehicles out there.
Only downside to this policy is you get left behind as things evolve ( the 100 series came out a year after I bought my 80).

Lovely to meet up with you both again!
Can confirm that the 250 is a very handsome vehicle in the flesh. Real presence and a great mix of new tech and a nod to the past. Great colour too!
