Hi Everyone,
I’m the proud new owner of a 79 series DC V8. It’s a 2017 model that I imported from South Africa recently. Before import it had a new heavy duty clutch fitted. On arrival I’ve noticed the reverse lights don’t come on. I tested the bulbs etc and all work so I removed the switch from the gear box. On testing it also works fine when depressed in my hands outside the gear box but when fitted and the car is placed in reverse the switch is not being closed by this action in the way that it should. It would appear that whatever the switch is supposed to make contact with inside the gearbox when it is placed in reverse is not contacting the switch enough to close it. Anyone out there encountered this after a clutch change and does anyone have an idea of how to troubleshoot this without going inside the gearbox?
Thanks
Patrick
