80 for sale - I'd have to GIVE money to get rid of it!

Yeah well! I could advertise in my local paper for a mechanic to work on
it - don't think this would solve the problem though.
Everything is so damned finicky! A pain; grazed knuckles, damaged fingers,
copious blood flow (not having the right tools for the jobs) twisting,
turning, bending, hanging over the open bonnet - and f***kwits staring at me
or my bum, yer-noes, these kinds of things... exasperation, frustration,
that "argh! F***k it!" feeling, but it aint going to do it by itself...
Worcester is a tad distance away, pity really.
I've now been reliably informed that I can be ANPRS'd (for Benoit; Automatic
Number Plate Recognition System,) by DVLA cameras for 1) no insurance; 2) no
tax; (3 no MOT'd probably) & 4) whatever else they deem fit-for-purpose, or
in my case, lack of it!
So I pretty much have to do everything myself because I'd be "had"
otherwise...so yes, sad, sad, tragic times for l'beast.
But I aint going to be stopped by the BOBs (for Benoit; Boys in Blue, aka
Police [ghandarmerie] or the DVLA's white-collar(ed) workers.
The worst thing, is arranging to have the damn thing towed to the garage
because its declared SORN (for Benoit; Statutory Off-Road
Notice/Notification - since I don't really know which...) for the more
seriously mechanically challenged jobs that I'm faced with and haven't a cat
in hells chance of doing it right! - Oh I so wish I was in Libya!! (is there
an emoticom for the 'wringing of hands' and tears rolling down ones face?)
Thy Will be done - sometime.
I've only got around to 1) sorting out batteries 2) the new radiator and 3)
the window motor regulators and bits (2 x front windows).
I still have to do the rear windows...somehow extricate the LRFT from
l'beast and have it repaired (its got a hole in it).
The spare wheel carrier is broke too, so have to replace this...and then
there's the new roofrack...and brand new stainless exhaust...then there's
the lights...the suspension (the springs and shocks)....the Universal
joint/s....the list IS infinite...
Its as long as my arm, and quite a few of them are MOT failures from last
August...
AARGH!
But hey! It is "the way of things" and I'm a survivor! (well somebody has
to be)
I hope Niall follows all the ELCO adventurers en route...
Cheers!
I was going to 'do' and April fool's but I won't...

I sympathise Renate.
I'm equally bad at vehicle maintenance and also have no facilities. It's a
complete pain. If we were closer I'd suggest pooling our meager resources.

Uhu
Very slowly...the more I do on it the more that needs doing...its a paradox!
One day I hope to travel to the white wastes of the Artic Circle to see
those wonderful Aurorae Borealis.
Its only 'very slowly' because I'm attempting to do most of it myself...for
a novice mechanic like myself with no garage its almost impossible and an
extremely daunting task! There is no other ELCO guy or gal who finds it as
hard as me...
I'm always focussed on Nord Afrique but maybe I should learn to walk again
before I run...
As a researcher its an "ongoing project" - which will never be finished...

I'm sure the knuckles and fingers will get better soon - never ending... one
