I spliced the heavy starter wire and fitted a locking keyed master type switch. Also a bonnet lock.

erent in the back window for thieves and tailgaters.

Likely the vest will be more effective Frank.

Have you had problems lately, prompting this?

The jacket will undoubtedly attract attention Frank. Are you a Police Officer then?

No problems recently apart from HGV's tailgating on a crowded road with 3 lanes full. They don't seem to like a clean 80.

No I bought the jacket off ebay. It must have cost a fortune to make. It's 2 in 1 fully armageddon proof.

You'll probably end up with it on fire with that jacket in the back. :mask:[

What kind of bonnet lock did you go for ? i've that in mind for mine but only see the rally type pin ones with a lock.
I'm measuring up to have one of these made (see pic) I know if they want it they'll take it but im thinking more for the great journey, last thing i need is to put my whole life into it and some @#$%^& makes off with it all.
I'm going for Wheel clamp , pedal box and maybe if i can imagine one up something that locks the transfer into N.

Sorry my comments seem to be doing that from my phone.

That load cover is hinged so I can open the tailgate and then fold up the rear half. There is no solid front or back just frames with solid sides. It's very strong so I can put heavy stuff on top.

I bought the jacket off ebay. I have another one hanging up in the front porch window. One bloke walked up the drive, took one look at it, then walked off.

So it doesn't look like the OEM retractable load curtain like the one in the 100 series and LR Disco's. Is it something you've made up Frank??
The retractable curtain wins hands down for convenience but you obviously can't put anything heavy on it. A rigid hinged parcel shelf will take more load but is not as easily removed and stored if you need to remove it to use the full load area. That's the only thing that put me off making one.

Careful you don't get done for impersonating a police officer. It's far more likely to be seen in the truck by the boys in blue than the one in the porch.

Beirut, in my mind I live there. I'm paranoid about security. My friend had a DB4 which he was restoring in 1979. His garage was unlocked and during the day someone took the maim bearing caps to the block and those for the camshafts together with all the little trim bits for the body. As all were hand made you could not buy replacements. I had a locked garage but only with a flimsy yale lock. I gave up restoration for a week and fitted proper locks and a burglar alarm. I still have terrible nightmares about the old house, coming down in the morning and finding the garage turned over.

I can't find a jacket on ebay with "Police" on it unless you are an officer. Must have been lucky. I would not wear it in public. I've tried it on it's bloody heavy don't know if they wore them all day. Came from Strathclyde Police. Is it cold there ?

I'm very lucky here. After 15 of residency I've never had any security issues whatsoever.

That goes for feeling safe walking the streets at night in the Capital to home security (no attempted break-ins) to vehicle security (no attempts to break into the truck and no vandalism at all).
I've even inadvertently left stuff outside in the garden and we're away all week, but it's still there when we return. (I'll regret saying this one day ).

Life in Swansea (15 years living in South West Wales area, Ceredigion, Gorseinon, Loughor, Grovesend) was very different, there was something every week. I had a 40' steel container as a store-shed in the garden at Grovesend, and they cut the very substantial padlock off more times than I could count with either bolt croppers or a cordless angle grinder. I lost several (5?) expensive bikes, tools, fishing gear, you name it. Despite an elaborate (and expensive) alarm system, the house was broken into more times than I can remember, it was pretty much a perpetual nightmare.

I like the idea of the jacket, might be worth rubbing off the 'PO', the police might not stop you then Frank, although you may get offers of help from 'Hedrin' reps?

regards

Dave

I don't think I'm breaking any laws. I'm not impersonating a police officer. I think I would just get a warning if I were.
