You can disconnect the battery if you haven't one of them connector things to put on the battery to stop it messing with your electrics,can't remember what there called I've got a Snapon one brilliant peace of kit.

Yes take both the negative sides of is this enough ?

finally got the time to finish the bumper, built like a tank now. 2" receiver fitted as well, also LED lights working and indicators flashing at a normal rate after fitting load resistors. All in all glad to be finished.
