A gentle steering wobble under braking

well when I say ball joints I am only referring to the once in the steering system

I installed a new steering rack with all new ball joints and the mounting rubbers for the rack, first test drive is promising. I will hopefully have the wheels aligned during the weekend so I can do a proper test... but looking good.

Hi I had steering wobble while braking , took it to two toyota specialists, one replaced cone bearings in front end and the other had no idea after checking the front end.
So the best advice I got after another wheel balance was to start at the basics again, so I did .
So I took the front wheels off and started with the brakes , then noticed the pads were worn down at each end and not even. This was the result of worn pins that hold the pads in position and they were also covered with some sort of hardened material from the pads I think.
So they also had flat spots on the pins , anyway I sanded them back to bare metal until I could get new ones and replaced the old pads with new and the wobble during braking disappeared , so I hope this helps some people sometimes it can be the simplest of things
cheers tom
