A parts problem

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone out there can help.
I'm about to embark on some body work on my FJ40 and Toyota UK (Jemca) were
going to supply two front wings at =A3105 each, pretty reasonable I thought. I
was told that they were coming from Belgium and would be with me in about a
week, a week later they tell me that there aren't any...goodbye.
I can get them from Spector USA at roughly the same price but they are
different for a LHD car and they are reproduction.
In an ideal world I would get genuine Toyota parts for a RHD car, any ideas?
I only ask as Toyota don't actually give a shit about old cars and actually
have no idea whether a dealer somewhere might have some, does anyone have
any ideas?

Steve,
As a last chance for a main dealer, try Collyweston Garage. They're a main
agent but like they 'cruisers and the boss does rally raids in a Hi Lux with
a Lexus V8 motor.
Tel: 01780 444271
They might be a bit more imaginative or resourceful.
Of course it might just be that there aren't any, though I doubt it.
Regards
Neill Watson

Hi Steve,
I guess you will struggle in the UK, because I don't think the 40 was ever
brought in here by Toyota so the supply chain won't be there.
If you want/need the right had drive panels I guess your first port of call
would be Aus any of the other colonies that drive the correct way.
I have a contact in Japan that can source panels as long as they haven't been
discontinued and I also know of a chap in Pakistan that is making some
replacement panels and from memory they were considered to be very good
replacements.
Let me know if you want any more info about the above.

Dear Neill,
I have called them and they are looking into getting the parts from either
Africa or Australia which seems logical.
Their number has changed by the way to: 01536 205 555
Thanks

Julian,
As you can see I have emailed Neill with what I have done based on his
information. That dealer seemed very nice and said he would get back to me
either today or within a week.
I don't doubt that I can get the parts, it's more about how much and how
long.
If your contacts are emailable I don't suppose there's any harm in asking if
the parts are gettable and how much they would cost. Repro LHD parts from
SOR cost $299 a pair. Real but unavailable parts from Toyota Jemco were =A3105
each, neither include delivery but Jemco is near me.
Best,
Steve Ackhurst - FJ40

Hi Steve,
OK, but will get in touch once you have heard back from your guy - I don't want
them running around unnecessarily and suspect their delivery prices will be a
wee bit more.

Fair enough, I'll get back to you should this route end in a cul-de-sac
