Hi all,
Looking for some help, have a 80, 1hdft manual, use it to travel to Portugal with the family and we do want working AC, it was retrofit as my model is the GS worked for one trip and never again, brother fitted, but immediately accept we would like a AC working in that trip. Several hours with window open is no fun. I have fitted new dryer oem, new seals, and ac radiator nissens, when it was retrofit.

What is not working, ac compressor is gone, ordered a new one, Denso, local ac guy diagnosed also 2 pipes leaking, it's like the pipes are porous, guy send me videos of that.

I wanted new pipes, Pipes are 2,one coming off the bulkhead and one connecting to the dryer.
Both partssouq no available, and anamaya say they have and then say no stock.
Didn't want pipes from UK cars as I believe the pipes as they are few years now and will possibly have the same problem I have.

What have people done when needed to replace pipes, any recommend proper specialist for ac on older cars to make new pipes. Struggle to get anyone to work on these properly.

Im in the wirral, but willing to travel for the right a specialist.

And no option to sell the 80, but did look at 150s

Order from Nayab is possibly an option, before I do so, just wanted to ask anyone had the same challenges.

Many thanks
Luis

Hi Luis,

I had same issue. The aluminium ac pipe had become porous. I sent my pipe to these guys and they repaired it. I asked for the porous section to be cut out and replaced with flexible hose to make refitting easier. If needed they can replace the entire pipe with hose, just using the pipe ends.

Thank you, that was one of the options I was looking for, ac guy I went when I asked can it be repaired he said no. Thanks

Just a thank you for the recommendation for Bee Cool to repair the pipes, wasn't cheap but suppose even second hand people charge a bit, and I sent 2 pipes one them will be nearly all new, just waiting for the pipes back now, they call you and explain the repair and give you the price.
Now let's see if It will work with also a new compressor.

Once again looking for some help, the AC guy I wanted to use I got the feel he doesn't want to do the job after exchange a few messages not giving a date.

Can anyone recommend a AC specialist not to just too up gas, that can proper repair install ac around the northwest of England. Most don't want to touch older cars and do any jobs.

Getting desperate after buying new compressor and repair pipes and July fast approaching.

Many thanks in advance
Luis

Fitting the new pipes is a super easy job. I would suggest fitting them yourself then simply booking a re-gas which any AC place will do.

Thanks for your response, yes you are right the pipes are super easy to fit, it's more the new compressor to fit also. I'm one them simple jobs turn out complex, aka lack of ability from my side
