Niall,
I think there is some other probleme here with your 80. Let me say the
why. My 1992 80 is the old AT with no renewing - it has run 280.000
kilometres! Them recently I put intercooler kit, bigger turbo and new
bloc motor. I also put temperature gage for AT juste to be certain it
not over heats.
Well last month I tow my heavy Range Rover on heavy german trailer up
many longe steep hills to go to some 4x4 trial, I stay in high range,
and my AT temperateurs are never over 50=B0C !
Now you say you have overheats with no trailer of 3,5 tonnes glued to
your butt and I say something is wrong! My 80 have from factory the
AT cooler, but I move it like Lionel say because I am like he say
large intercooler in front of the
But I have no AT overheat! You do not say that your AT oil Temp light
is verified. I can tell you a true story. When we put my new Toyota
bloc, the dash board gage reads no oil pressure! Oh butt cheeks! So
we put a second oil pressure gage, and guess what, the Toyota gage had
it all wrong!
So if your radiateur is too hot why do you suspecte the AT? Just for
that little light? What if you have a insuffience of main radiateur?
There is more thinking and testing to do here with that probleme.
