Does anyone have any negative comments on these as I plan on installing one on the dash for phones etc.

Wouldn't it be more useful to put a normal 12v socket in and use an adapter if you need USB?

Will it be permanently powered or aux position only? If the former, 15ma is not a lot of draw on its own but is more than I'd like to add to whatever existing constant drain there is just for USB sockets.

You could always try something a little simpler like a Griffin PowerJolt that simply plugs and is easily removable.

I have been using one for a while and it fits flush in my 12v socket so much so that it almost looks standard.

I use mine often, only one GPS which does not see it as a charger and does not work as I left two of the pins in the socket floating.

Will it be permanently powered or aux position only?

My thinking was to have it ignition switched off the aux battery that way if the key is not on then its not on.
