My wife and I have no accidents, tickets, or anything else to warrant an elevated insurance rate. Before I bought the Land Cruiser last week I entered it into Geico for a quote and it came out $28 a month. It may not sound bad but Gieco (I assume most) request miles per year estimates. I only estimated 3000 miles a year as our new (heavily used) Land Cruiser is primarily for a trip to the desert 2x a year and dog hauling. Its an extra car to us - even a bug out vehicle 3000 miles a year for $336 a year. Dang...its 11.2 cents a mile just for insurance on a 1992 with 205k miles on it. Oh and lots of paint/dings to go with its age....argh.
