They make it up as they go along! The renewal for my daily driver was £490 (£90 more expensive than last year), I shopped around and found a company offering £350 so phoned my insurers and told them only to be told "OK we'll do it for £340!"

You should take the £10 knock and just go with the other company. If your original company did not want to be nice to you, why bother staying with them? They show you no loyalty, why not do the same.
