Clarification on snorkel install?

Hi team,

I'm pretty close to finishing my snorkel installation and I need some pointers...

I'm not too sure what I should be doing with the metal insert (pictured below - it doesn't fit inside the pipe?).

I tried using rivets on the bracket which secures the snorkel to the truck - the fitment didn't work out due to the curve of the pillar and I need to look at some alternatives...

Keen to hear your thoughts!

That ferrule is supposed to go inside ONE of the pipes so that when you put the big jubilee clip in it has something to tighten against. I don't doubt you when you say it won't go in, but that IS what it's for.

Note to anyone buying an Ironman kit - the ferrule that you get with the kit won't fit inside the cutoff pipe (Point B).

I take it that everyone just disposes of the cut off piece (Part C)?

Has anyone tried connecting the flexi-pipe from the bottom of the snorkel directly to the airbox (taking out the need for the part above)?

If not, what did everyone use to make sure the connection at Point A was airtight? Silicon?

Any other points to be wary of?
