There are some interesting comments on the Dakar community site, from people all over the world regarding the live coverage aspect... Lots of comments with people wanting to know why there are over sometimes 10 hrs of racing but they can only muster 10mins of highlights, Which aren't really highlights, Just a cap on who did what and where, The Classics do not get any live coverage at all really, But they have had to pay entry fee's like everyone else... I think they deserve some Lime Light Time, As do the Malle Moto Boy's and Girls....... High lights on you Tube of the Autumn Test, (Rugby Union) can be 30mins long... Im not complaining but i would like to know why the high lights are so short..... Any way a big shout out to Danilo Petrucci...

Spot on Highly. I've watched the hour catch-up on Eurosport and it's poor. Wish we had more of the actual racing and of the classics.

I think most people are expecting to watch it Live, As in sit down for 10 hrs with a Bucket of chicken wings and pop corn and watch the Dakar all day, In reality that doesn't happen, People in Canada were expected to Pay up to 150 dollars to subscribe and view, To then find out it was only Highlights at best, New Zealand appears to have No coverage at all,....... I just watch the hour long Documentaries from the 90's The Stephane Peter-Hansel days... Much more entertaining

I was looking for Landcruiser 200 in production class but didn’t find much on YouTube or Dakar site so ended up watching official Toyota Landcruiser channel in Japanese.
What I understood it’s last year for 200 in this production class. It won 8 times in 10 years

I've followed the Dakar for some years and coveradge has got progressivley worse. It's never really been mainstream enough to warrant the sort of attention that many more, shall we say, "acceptable" sports command but this year it's been particularly shit. I watched a 1hr live feed by Danilo Petrucci on Instagram this afternoon where he did a guided tour of the nights bivouac, speaking to other riders/drivers/mechanics etc, mostly in Italian interspersed with English which was a better watch than the racing coverage so far. He's had a high speed get off and looking at the state of his body armour, was lucky not to sustain more serious injuries. Hail the first ever MotoGP rider to win a Dakar stage!

Great to see so many Landcruisers in the list. Yesterday was talking to a mechanic. He says Landcruiser itself is like a brand as strong as Toyota

You do know your Land Cruisers. I have only recently found out about the type Land Cruiser known as the BJ, I know that your HJ's are diesel and your FJ's are the petrol or ULP, but I have never been quite sure of the BJ's. But there is one things for sure, all Land Cruisers are good in my books

@OffRoadin56 the BJs had a 4 pot diesel which grew over the years to be around 3 litres and the HJs, most of which went to Oz, initially ran the H engine - 6 cylinder - and later the 2H - 6 cylinder at 3980cc with 4 or 5 speed gearboxes. Had mine for 20 years.
