hey guys

does anyone know if or how it is possible to do a double cab conversion in UK and DVLA law on it? iv seen in aus its quite a popular trend to convert 80/100/200 series and patrols to double cab trucks with chassis extensions to the wheel base. I think any "kit" imported from aus would be quite expensive as well.
reasons I'm enquiring are simply 80 is solid axle, but 80/100 have that nice chunky engine as well.

Vehicle mods are very strictly regulated in Australia and engineers reports are often required.

In the uK, I think once you've done your mods, if you get a fresh MOT I think you're good to go.

West Coast Off Road did a double cab conversion a while back think they should still have it up on their site good luck sounds a very interesting project

No law against it as long as it goes through a mot.

I have an 80 on the go at the min. Been a project for a while though. Single cab pic up.

would I need to declare change of class for the v5 though? will ping west coast as well. karl how did you sort the rear out? custom made or imported a kit?
