Ive currently got a 200tdi disco with a QT diffguard in the front and a QT

Thanks

QT
I doubt they'll be any use on an LC Dyfed. I've never seen diff guards
for an LC which I believe is because the casing is very thick anyway.
I've clobbered a few tree stumps and rocks without problems ...
Best Regards,
Jon.

hi jon
thanks for that
ive currently got some bits to take off my disco which are for sale anyway
(unless they will fit the LC
southdown tank guard
scorpion racing steering guard
if these wont fit then no matter, but if they will then woohoo!!!!

Jon,
There's a diff guard for the front axle. You can buy it in France
(from Paris4x4 IIRC). It is a bowl shaped piece of steel that needs to
be welded to the pumpkin.
Here's mine:

Can't imagine it fitting, the LC already has a tank guard anyway.
Again can't imagine it fitting and you have to try really hard to catch
the LC steering gear anyway (I've tried :), so not something there's
been much call for. I did manage it once but guards wouldn't have helped
prevent it! Also, I drove into a large (2ft by 2ft by 4ft) concrete
block hidden in a manure pile recently at speed (wanted momentum to get
through the manure!) and the only damage was my head hitting the roll
cage.
Jon.

That's interesting, I'd not seen one before, or heard them talked about
for a TLC. Did you fit one because you had an LR before and assumed you
needed one, or have you seen evidence that it's required?
Best regards,
Jon.

Hi Roman,
I notice you also have a steering guard - was that from the same place?

Julian,
No, I made the steering guard and the gearbox plate myself with the
help of a friend.

Julian,
No, it's steel. Aluminium is used under the long range tank (it'd be
too heavy for steel)

I've taken a lot of bashes on mine as well.
However I do need to get an extra strong ring welded to the bottom of the
sump ob the axles as I've 'dented' this a couple of times.
Its a PITA to try and refix so u can get a socket to refit and drain the oil
once its been bashed in a bit.
