HELP ME!
I'm in the hands of Dominican mechanics, and they want to put on new rear discs (already did the fronts) there is a noticeable wobble in the brake pedal, and the rear axle retainer has been changed twice now, with a leak re-appearing both times.

BUT my central question is WHAT are the MINIMUM allowable disc widths for a 2001 prado (diesel 2.8, if that makes any difference) I need this info for both the fronts AND the rear discs!

THANK YOU!

I'd say 20mm min for the front (22mm new) and 16mm for the rears (18mm new). Runout limit for fronts 0.07mm and 0.15mm for the rears. Hope this is right.

On a proper PC today so here's the relevant page from the manual.

Thank You, MOVDRS! That was very helpful! The thought of only being able to cut 2 mm. is pretty depressing! Don't imagine aftermarket brakes are any thicker either...
But I did need new discs, because they were definitely more than 2mm. Cut down.

Again, Thank you!
