FJ40 etc parts in UK

Steve,
Since writing to you last I have been thinking of your quest. This
afternoon I was reading the Sept 2004 edition of 4X4 mag (well the relief
convoys take a while to get here you see ;-))
On page 166 top right corner, there is an advert from someone claiming to
be -
'the only BJ-40 and FJ-40 pre-1983 specialist in the UK - located Southampton'
No name, but after a list of 40's and 60's for sale the numbers are -
02380 338 684 & 07973 625 027
Hope that helps
Cheers

Steve,
Sorry I can't help with a positive feedback like Jon, but in case you
run into a guy named Joe Boatwright (who claims to be "the best
Landcruiser specialist in the UK") let me know and I'll tell you why
you should avoid him.

I called him, he's called David Stone - Classic Toyota's, all telephone
numbers were correct. He advertises in 4x4 mags. He's an Aussie who imports
LC's from Down Under. I'm slightly wary as he thought they speak Spanish in
Indonesia, but hey, it made me laugh!
I'm talking to him to see what he can come up with price wise, so lets give
him the benefit of the doubt for now.
He thinks there about 15 FJ40's in the UK 'cos he imported them, Julian get
'em on board!
Thanks for the help

That's good news Steve, so it looks as if between us we have been of some
use. I am pleased that this old git sitting out here 1500 miles from you
can make something of a connection too. So its all the more significant
that you wrote the final phrase quoted above. I think that now you might
just think we are worth
hanging around with ;-)
You may have a rare model, but we are all enthusiasts for the marque and I
know we all try to help anyone with a need. Individual models owned are not
so relevant as much as our collective enthusiasm. It just reinforces
Julian's view that we have benefits in not being model specific.
Best
