FJ40 SPARES

Hi guys=2C

I live in Leicester UK and am a FJ40 owner. I need to source a head gasket kit for the 2F engine. Could some one please point me in the right direction.

You have two options that I know of. (Reminded me I should get some gaskets
soon)
I was looking for the same thing some time ago and I found the 2F head
gasket part number from BGA on the net. I sent off an email on the website
and got a response from Peter at Lewisham Auto Electrics www.laeltd.co.uk -
never quite worked that out, must be linked. BGA web site is
http://www.british-gaskets.co.uk/ but I can't find the part numbers again.
Never needed the gasket in the end so I can't comment on the service,
quality etc. Might no longer be available and prices might have changed
etc.
Other option is Toyota. I will boot the EPC up and see if I can get some
part numbers. Most US users would say go with Toyota and they seem to be
able to get them. Might take me a day or so to find a part number, I think
the EPC disk is at work and I usally have to check a couple numbers with the
local dealer before I get one that works.
How urgent is it? Also which gaskets are you looking for, just the head
gasket or manifold, heat riser and rocker cover?

Hi Guvi,
Your Toyota dealer will still be able to get one. You'll need the
full chassis no and frame no, plus all the details you can see on the
bulkhead plate.

That's the theory - depends on the dealer and if they can be bothered or
not. FJ40 VIN is shorter than modern VIN's and sometimes they just say "the
computer says no". Annoying thing is it's all in there they just don't want
to look, that said the dealers local to me at least try.
