Hi Clive and Gary, it wasn't that pushing was likely to set them off that I
was warned about it was that the airbags are effective because there are
''soft'' zones which crumple if you hit something and if you strengthen
those soft zones with a bull bar or a towbar the airbag may not deploy if
you hit something or the forces could be altered. This is why I was looking
at the one from watling that goes across the chassis underneath rather than
on the bumper
I hadn't thought of the fact that pushing the caravan (1700kg) might be seen
by the car as a low impact collision and set them off....that I don't want!!
I have been in a car when airbags deployed and it was indeed not nice!!
