I have a 1988 75 series land cruiser with a 3F engine. I am on my p plates and still learning about my car. I'm not too sure how they run with any kind of turbo or supercharger or weather or not this is even possible, however engine is lacking power an I am trying to find a way to increase power. it already has extractors and running a holly carb (not sure weather this would improve anything) although I am chasing a little more power fuel economy is an issue for me so if running a turbo or supercharger is possible I was wanting to know how badly this would effect fuel consumption.

A good service would be a start plugs points air oil fuel filters if not running electronic ignition get some change plug leads and distributor cap and get an uprated ignition coil check and adjust valve train to factory specs get the carb checked and retuned a high flow air filter may help get it running right first and see what a change it makes there is no point putting a new expensive turbo on a sick engine get yourself a workshop manual for your vehicle have a read of the basics and teach yourself learn off of
a mate or parent or last resort sell your heart and lungs and take it to a garage
If you get stuck there is a load of written knowledge in the forums and a few well lots of knowledgeable members here for advice and tips let us know how you get on

Kayne my comment was not put up as a sarky that's how I learned about cars and engine maintenance and when I got stuck asked for help from a mate but like you now most engines are way past my comprehension with all the lectronic gizmos but I can change most mechanical things on me truck and drop the oils and change the filters but the electronics I would happily bin them the Mk1 Ford Escort 1600 xflow engine is a work of art compared to the over complicated abortions they put in vehicles these days
