The Injectors on my KZJ70 are waaaaay overdue a service (180,000 miles in total!). So I went to my local diesel injector specialist and after a 45min chat including them showing me new and used nozzles, the testing equipment, the tolerances, pump and injector tuning, fuel types and grades and a whole host of other interesting information about diesel fuel injection systems they looked up which Denso nozzles they would need to service the injectors on my truck. Problem is there are three different types listed for the KZJ70 and which one is correct all depends on the serial number on the fuel pump........ which I cant find!

Anyone know where abouts Im likely to find the serial on the fuel pump, preferably without removing it?

I dont think its the serial number you need, its the part number. It should be on a plate fixed to the pump unless its been removed.
The 6 cyl rotary pumps have the plate in plain view.

Toyodiy is showing one part number for the nozzle set for both Euro and JDM models. 23600-69105.

I think your diesel specialist could do more to help.

Ill have another look today and see if I can find the plate on the pump.

Stupidly I didnt take the truck with me to the specialist, I just went to ask about prices initially. They said to give them a call with the part/serial number of the pump a few days in advance of bringing it in so they can order the correct nozzles. He did mention that there was a single original Denso part numer but it has been superseded and instead there are now 3 different part numbers and the tolerances vary slightly depending on slight variances with the pumps fitted?

Im sure if I just took the truck there they would easily be able to find the numbers they need to order the correct nozzles but as I work mon-fri 9-5:30 and Id like to book it in for this Sat Its not really possible.

When I had new tips fitted to my injectors, there was no mention of variable pump numbers. Isn't there a UK diesel specialist called Diesel Bob? He may be able to point you in the right direction Dave.

Wont go into details but all I can say is I too would not recommend Diesel Bob either. He doesnt DO Toyotas!

Dave, who are you using? DTM in Bristol?

No its Shaun Arkinstall Fuel Injection Services in Yate. The seem quite knowledgeable and were more than happy to answer questions. They also had quite a few 4x4s including Toyotas in their yard.

Found the plate on the pump, had to look through the flap in the wheel arch:

Let me know how you get on with garage, I am going to have mine done before winter, Yate isnt so far, can have a days shopping in Brissol.
