Golden old un!!!!

Well 8 hour's of cutting grinding and welding and the drivers side wing the worst of the two is almost done. Whole front section from the light down all the arch lip and bottom edge of wing and the bottom of the wing where it meets the cill were all but dust. Made paper profiles and lots of measuring from the better drivers wing and it's just about saved. Waiting for more metal to be delivered Tuesday. Got desperate to get on so cut up an old welder cover to keep going. Started to skim with filler before realising it seems to have gone off. Enjoying this. For a boxy old truck the wings have some tricky curves to try and replicate. It fits the front balance so cant be far out.

Hi Brendon. Cracking on at a steady pace as much as family life and work allows anyway. All the rust repaired on inner wings wheelarches and drivers door. Started on the worst of it so it only gets easier from now on. Finally got the rims I like after loads of searching for them. Had her up and running too. Ca nt wait to get it done. Once all body work is done it's body off for a good clean up and paint. On the chassis. Not rushing her though. We t to get 100% rust free. Looking forward to watching progress on your truck too.

Wow thays great progress, ill post a few pictures this week of how im getting on, i have the body off and on my shed, already chopping out rust. Keep up the good work, it will be awesome

It takes time. Especially with a 2 yr old and an 8 wk old baby at home. Me and James my oldest son who 14 and a cruiser loonatic get at it whenever we can. Cant wait to drive her around. These old buses must be getting fairly rare now so well worth saving. Good progress on yours. Did the body lift off fairly easily.

body came off no bother at all, 12 bolts a few wires and I made up frames to put on the front door pillars and at the rear door hinge points, just jacked it, blocked it and rolled the chassis out. I also built a sort of rotisserie to flip it, got teh steel for 20 quid so just made it work as best i could. makes access so easy.

Bit more progress on this old warship. Front panel and both wings now fully welded and repaired. 2 coats of red oxide and an undercoat primer. All mock fitted up just to be sure it all still lines up and it does. Quite chuffed with myself.
