Golden old un!!!!

Gav, it would be interesting to know when yours was first registered, I have one which was reg June 90 and was one of the last reg.

I've just checked the mot history and it says registered 27th Nov 1989 and registered in London south east. Looks to have spent it's time in the South east most of it's life which is a good sign salt wise and there fore underside rust..
My 60 was registered 23rd Nov 1989 in Warrington..
Looking forward to see you bring it back to life Gav..

Just been doing a bit of digging. Trying to find out how many 60s are left on the road in the UK. From what I can work out which may be wrong it's 127. Anyone else looked in to this? Be interested to know.

Interesting info Gav... I've done a fair bit of research on the 45's from a particular year.. I never found the part on the dvla site where they state the quantity left..

Is it on the mot checker section?

Sorry snowbound totally skimmed past . What are you waiting for?

I was waiting on an HJ60 from Australia via Ireland.... Finally got here 10.30 last night.

Base model with barn doors but seems to run fine. Interior could do with a tidy up. You don't know anyone selling door cards, etc?

Sorry mate I don't. Going to try save mine. Been cracking on with it . Got her home yesterday lunch time. Set about stripping all the interior. My boy James set about the carpets with shampoo and a pressure washer followed by the seats. Ecstatic to find an immaculate floor and rear arches. Today removed the wings and front panel. Passenger inner wing is mint. Outer wing needs some repair but not phased by that. Will get cutting and welding this week. Drivers wing needs more repair but again doable. Inner wing and arch liner need work also this side too but I'm adamant I'm going to repair what I have over buying and replacing expensive parts. Front panel also needs work on the drivers side and a bit in other places but also I feel repairable. James has been removing items like air box and other brackets cleaning them up sanding and repainting. He's absolutely loving it. That's all for this weekend.

Looks like you have a fair challenge ahead of you! If you ever decide to change the wheels, I'll be happy to take them. I have painted ones but need some chrome ones for my BJ42

on the upside you have a brown interior which I won’t say are easy to get replacement parts but easier than blue/ grey lol , good luck with the build good to see another one saved

I'd rather a 60 than an 80 Gav but then i'd want to fit a 24 valve turbo engine ...... and then coil springs .... and then .......................... , its probably a good thing i don't live on a farm

She will make the road. My son would disown me if not. Seriously I'm buzzing about it too. Determined to see this one through. That will make 4 cruisers and a hilux.

I went through all that in my mind trust me mate. But I got my 24v I got my off road 80 and the 100 for the family so I think this has just got to stay stock...... well maybe just a 2 inch body lift and 33 muds and... no stop the coruption please. I'm easily led.
