This was my thought with the pistol grip as I’ve struggled with the old lever one and contemplated making it a solid tube but just know that would be awkward too. New gun it is.

I use a grease gun everyday best guns we have had is a John Deere pistol grip model used them for years
In fact last week we chucked a load of other brands in the skip, a crap gun will ruin your day
