Hi guys,
Bones and I'm from the Isle of Man
Looking to buy a Land Cruiser 120 series hopefully soon
Present 4x4 is an X5 but not really a 4x4
Hopefully the 120 for general use but get some decent tyres and suspension setup.
I've had all sorts of 4x4's over the years, all modified. 4Trak a few V8 Range Rovers, Terrano2
I also have a Holden SS Ute

Hi Bones. Welcome. Well I too m nearly new but this forum is so good, I am on it most of my free time reading, learning. Have a good time

Hi Raj, just been looking through the forum and lots of interesting stuff. Peoples posts are making me think I need a 120 in my life.

My love story with red LC200 started long ago but its Mr.Jack who finally broke the ice and made it happen. One good day after having few pegs of Jack Daniels, the devil inside came out and whispered 'enough of thinking, just go n get one' the whisper was so strong, within a week i got one. :innocent:. Like a long term relationship, actual journey starts after buying one. :) Tyres, wheels, seat protectors, mats, clear bra or vinyl wrap.. these are just softcore...the hardcore stuff like camping gear, extra lights, suspension, bumper so on goes on real off tarmac drive are yet to come.. the temptation is too strong...It has somany choices to keep owners busy for rest of the life.
After initial confusions, now I actually started to enjoy this red beast.

Alright Yesser
I reckon a petrol 80 makes a lot more sense when your struggling to make 100 miles a month doing laps around Snaefell :icon-wink:

I went to every school there and don't remember getting educated in any of them

Seriously though the way they have stretched all the speed limits from village to village a petrol 80 is better suited to it than a diesel and the 80 is an icon the 120 will never be .

Are you sure? sounds like you must have been out on the Calf. Don't get me started on them moving the goal posts, it's people that come over here and buy a house on the TT course then complain about the races.

You don't have to tell me i'm Manx of generations going back beyond records , a true second class citizen of the oldest and most corrupt continuous parliament in the world .

I notice "Peggy" will cost 5 million to shift a few miles . I wonder what company will "comeover" to do that ?

Makes me feel kinda lucky that i was able to have a much bigger boat craned out of the water and transported 4 or 5 hours on motorways and craned back into the water for less than 3 grand , funny old world huh .

Anyway Landcruisers , what's the plan is it just for a daily car or are you planning modifications and trips ?

I hate to say it but you're not wrong. No idea what the hell is going on with the Peggy they just need to get it sorted and put it back where it belongs and stop going on about silly numbers. There will probably be some specialist from across telling us we are doing it wrong and they can sort it for a small fee.
Hopefully got myself a 120 Series tonight but when it is sat on the driveway I'll be happy. Also got offered a 3 door 1996 Land Cruiser today too with the possibility of a spare one with it but no need now.
It will be a daily car but I can never leave things alone for some reason for very long, I'm taking next week off to get some stuff done on my Ute but will now be side tracked by the 120.

A short wheelbase 90 series , only one of them i've seen used to be in Castletown ....... i could have sold that loads of times in the past 5 years !

Edit :- what price because maybe i still can and it will save them nagging me for mine :icon-rolleyes:

I thought it was 1996 but it is a 1998 same shape as yours. It's not for sale but it might have been for the right price to me I'll leave it at that as he still uses it and would probably would want a lot for it so I didn't ask how much. There was a commercial 3 door one a farmer had for sale a few months back but the guy wants to hang on to it down south.
