Hello - I’m Neil and joined a few days ago. I have a 1999 Colorado GX KZJ95R Auto with ~150k miles. Although I paid quite a lot, it seems to be a very clean example. I’ve had it 2 years or so and I know it spent most of its previous life on roads rather than off road. I don’t think its tyres ever got muddy! Previous owner had it ~17 years and regularly serviced by Toyota main dealers and I have the history, bills etc. to show that. It means I know for sure what was and wasn’t done. I bought it to go camping, fishing, shooting with my son. We sleep in the back on a drawer system/ sleeping platform I made and we love it. We also enjoy doing the maintenance and improvements ourselves, which is good father/son time. Although I’ve replaced some parts as a precaution (eg radiator), the only things I’ve had to do was to replace the starter motor contacts and the (original) exhaust. Tyres will be needed soon though. We don’t plan any major mods - it suits our needs perfectly in standard form. I am enjoying the forum and hope to get some good advice here and can hopefully contribute something as well. Welcome Neil. A great introduction. Now you say you're not planning any mods. Let's just check back 12 months from today. I'll bet you a fish supper and lashings of ginger beer that it looks an apocalypse bug out vehicle by then. You can't resist the urge. Just give in and save all the faffing around.
