Hi everyone, I have a 1985 hj75 troop carrier with whole lot of rust in the cab and most is in spots that cannot be cut and shut. The old 2h has done over half a million clicks but is good as gold and probably has another million left in it... I have access to a hzj75 ute cab in good nick, and a beat up hj75 ute aswell. I have a few questions I thought best to ask before destroying the rusty cab.

Is it a straight swap on off for the cab at least?
Will all panels forward of the firewall stay the same?
Which ute cab will be easier if there is even a difference?

Thanks in advance for any help. Would love to know if this has been attempted before and what hurdles were encountered.

Hi Mick, welcome to the club. :icon-biggrin:

So am I right in thinking you want to put one of the ute cabs onto your troopy chassis?

I'm sure its been done before but not sure if anyone on here has.

Id be very surprised if the chassis's arnt the same from the firewall forwards.

Rear of that I think they will be different so you may have to weld new body mounts onto your chassis.

The best thing to do would be to park your troopy next to one of the utes and jump underneath with a tape measure and compare where all the mounts are. :icon-biggrin:
