How to Dim the Satnav Screen at night ?

THis is causing trouble, I have had the LC200 for about 6 months now, but I just cannot find the night setting for the screen.

You know when you turn the headlights on, the screen goes into a night setting, dim display and sometimes a different darker colour for the sat nav maps.

But mine stays bright, its like flood light on the dash, I have to turn the screen off

I have been through all the menus and settings on many occasions.

To dim the Sat Nav Screen when the headlights go on, you use the Dash Dimmer, mine was set all the way fully clockwise, which was fully brightness. By turning the dimmer knob anti clockwise it clicks and then dims the dash back lights, then also the main screen goes into night lights. when the headlights are on.
