Hi All - trying to remove the centre section from my 80 series 1994 Blue Marlin Land Cruiser. The section with the radio and air vents etc. There's a switch in there the previous owners installed for driving lights that I want to fix or replace. Can't find anything onlike that desribes how. Must be so simple. Anyone shed some light on how? Thanks.

G'Day,

I think you'll find it is just pushed into clips, no screws holding it in, so you should be able to gently ease/pull/pry it from the sub section of the dash.

I woud use something like 'Bojo' plastic car trim removal pry tool, I have a set and they are very good, readily available from all the online market places.

Good Luck.

Edit: more experienced members have popped in, there are some screws to remove.

Opps, sorry, bad advice. I was only calling on my experience with my current 100 series. I never had the need to remove the dash from any of my 80's in the past.

Pull out the ashtray and you will see two screws on my 1997 80 anyway .

There are a few obvious screws but then it does simply pop off.

There are 4 screws you need to undo to remove the centre section, 2 by the ashtray and 2 where the little cubby/ drink holder is LH top corner as you look at it.
