Nice looking truck. I always loved the 'orange' indicators you guys get in the US, compared with the softly faded yellow we get here.

Thanks. I'm much more about its capability than its appearance, so I plan to do absolutely nothing about all the clearcoat coming off of the top surfaces. The paint underneath is all fully intact, so the metal is protected, which is what I'm concerned about. I lived in Germany for a few years and have traveled extensively around GB, so I've seen what you're talking about, and I think I'd have to agree with you on the indicators. Funny the little differences in things from country to country. Took me a while to get around getting back into the site after my initial foray, thus the delayed response.

I wish I could share pics! Dude - I was 15, and it was the early 80's where the best camera most of us had was a Kodak Instamatic, which we didn't take anywhere but on vacations with us, as we were much more concerned with doing things than with documenting them for others. It was red and fantastically beautiful, at least that's how my 15-year-old brain remembers it. I also vaguely remember a few rusty spots, some big enough to let air and water in while driving. Seeing yours in your profile pic brings back some great memories of the wooded areas around Chattanooga, TN (in the Smoky Mountains, southern part of the Appalachians, in case you're not familiar). Lots of our British cousins on here, so I don't always know where someone is coming from. If you're coming from the UK, it looks like the fells around the Lake District, with more wooded area and less heathery/open spots.

Ok, I understand about the camera.

Although I am English, I live in Spain and the photo was taken in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Andalucia which is in the south of Spain. I've had my 40 for 20 years and, like you said, when I got it, it was full of holes and let water in. It was actually an ex-winch race truck with a full internal roll bar and 60 series running gear but had no doors, roof and loads of rust.
