Many thanks for those links- I had some of the manuals but not all of them.
Having lokoed through the manuals they don't seem to be a huge amount of
help other than saying if lockup doesn't occur then rebuild the valve body,
or the gearbox or buy a new torque converter, none of which seem like an
ideal way forward. Can you give any further advice?
Somebody menitoned that a couple of people have gone with aftermarket shift
kits and the like that allow selective lockup in any gear- does anyone have
any further advice? Also someone mentioned a place in Exeter- I'm only in
Taunton and regularly pop down that way (keep seeing a battered blue 80 on
the m'way with steel wheels and a tyre carrier on the back- is it anyone
from here? I'm in a silver/gold joby with MTs, a snorkel and a CB arieal out
of the top!) so it might be a good idea for me to pop out to see them at
some point!

There's no link to the FSM's through the mudtoys pages on purpose although
