Water pump was replaced with rebuild.

I'm currently looking at another fuel pump....

I'm convinced it's the pump/timing.....

Finally found tge problem! Was engine timing. For some reason the timing marks weren't exactly corresponding to what the pistons were doing!

So your injection pump needed timing to the engine?

No. The actual timing of the engine was slightly out.

Between crank and valves? In other words the timing belt was perhaps one tooth out? Just asking as it could be very useful to somebody experiencing the same problem you had to know exactly what was out.
