Increased power & long range fuel tank

Hi,
I got the following quote from Andrew Graham if anyone's interested in
increasing power or extending fuel range in the UK. Their prices seem
reasonable. The 120 litre fuel tank seems cheaper than the 170 litre
Longranger fuel tank imported from Australia through 4x4 distributors /
fitters throughout the UK.
Please see below - your comments are appreciated.
Kind Regards,

Hi Dennis,
Thank you for your enquiry regarding your Land Cruiser.
We can offer an intercooler system that is designed to fit in front of
the radiator and uses a combination of silicone hoses and aluminium
pipework to connect to the engine. The inlet manifold will need a slight
alteration to accept the extra pipework, which makes the modification
difficult to offer in kit form.
We are offering a free fitting service, included in which is
re-calibration of the fuel and boost settings.
The power and torque will increase by 25-30% with improved economy and
throttle response. The cost is =A3610 for 12 valve or =A3620 for the 24
valve. Prices are plus vat.
With regard to the fuel tank, we can fabricate an aluminium tank of
around 120 litres to fit under the rear load area. The spare wheel has
to be moved onto a carrier or into the rear of the car. The filler can
be adapted to allow filling of both tanks from the same point and the
fuel can be transferred into the original tank by electronic pump.
The tank system would cost =A3490 and fitting =A3100 +vat.
Fitting would take a full day but ideally we would want the vehicle over
night to ensure completion.
I hope this is of interest and look forward to hearing from you.
Best Regards,
Andrew

Why do you want one of these? your vehicle is exactly spec'd to mine without the intercooler - intercoolers are okay but they are not generally necessary for desert driving in autumn/winter/spring.
Glad you found your long range fuel tank...

Hi Dennis,
Andrew is a good chap and is recommended by many.
For the install he has to cut the inlet manifold pipe that runs across
the engine (many installers do this), so it is not reversible. This can
be avoided if you can find a replacement second hand inlet manifold from
a 1HZ engine.
You also end up with a lot of pipework around the front of the engine,
making it difficult to add extra compressors or PS pumps.
Andrew did his training with Alan Allard
(http://www.allardturbosport.co.uk) also around the Gloucester region so
worth contacting them also - their prices should be comparable.
On the fuel tank side of things, one train of thought is to have the two
pumps feeding the injector pump separately, thus if you take on some
contaminated fuel you don't mix it with good stuff. For this you will
need pusher pumps (Walbro 6030 recommended) and separate fuel filter.
One other thing, does Andrew's tank include fitting for a fuel sender to
see how much is left in the tank - I wouldn't want a tank without one.
